INTERVIEW ASSISTANCE

Candidates

Interviews can be tricky to navigate so we’d like to give you some advice from an experienced standpoint on how to prepare and how to conduct yourself during the process. Interview processes rarely follow a set method and can differ from company to company so we aim to give you the best advice to increase your chance for success. We take care of your CV, pitch yourself highlighting your key skills and experience alongside a detailed description of your expectations from your next career move. The rest is down to you!

BEFORE YOUR INTERVIEW

Research your client. Nothing impresses an interviewer more than when you’ve done your homework and know the company. A great way to do this is to review their website and social media platforms where there is usually a wealth of information to be had. Ensure you take your documentation with you and any professional qualifications you have gained along the way, including identification, utility bills, certificates, proof of training and qualifications. For clinical staff, a thorough understanding of the clients latest CQC/Care Inspectorate results will always garner a positive response. Plan your questions ahead of time, asking strong questions throughout or at the end of the interview, shows your interest and inquisitiveness about the company or role. We always suggest asking about the team you are applying to work with, or if the management can give examples of where they have offered an individual support or extra training/courses or progression. Combine this with checking your travel plans beforehand to ensure you’re on time and an appropriate dress code for the big day. We’d advise going as formal as possible – Dress to impress!

DURING THE INTERVIEW

Arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your proposed interview time. Remain calm and confident throughout. The client will already be aware of your skills and experience so now is the time to really impress. Give them some examples of particular achievements in your career, areas you really excel within or parts of your current role you really enjoy. Be positive and target areas of the business where you feel you’d make a real impact. Be open and honest about your aspirations and how these could be achieved with the new employer.

FOLLOWING THE INTERVIEW

Give us your feedback. It’s important for us to know how you feel things went. Potential employers are always interested to hear your opinion on their interview process. Remember, it’s just as important for them to be the right fit for you as you are for them. We then relay this feedback to our clients and aim to get an outcome as soon as possible.
